GREAT Plenary Meeting - 29-30 June 2010 - Agenda online

Dear All,

this is a brief update to note that the draft agenda is now available for the Plenary meeting - see the wiki page at http://camd08.ast.cam.ac.uk/Greatwiki/GreatMeet-20100629

If any working groups wish to give a specific WG update please let me know. Also - if the WGs have specific items for dicussion during the breakout sessions - please add to the wiki.

The meeting will be a useful update point - bringing news of the next set of GREAT ESF research network (http://www.esf.org/great) meetings, updates on the GREAT Initial Training Network, and also the GREAT Chemo Dynamical Survey (http://camd08.ast.cam.ac.uk/Greatwiki/GreatCds). And of course the opportunity to network and develop working group activities.

Finally - if you haven't already registered yet plan to attend - please register at http://www.sciops.esa.int/index.php?project=CONF2010&page=index&conf=GREAT_PM3&register

And ... if you think that others not on this mailing list might like to get involved - point them at the GREAT pages and encourage them to come to ESTEC later this month.

Yours, Nic Walton

Dear All,

the next GREAT plenary meeting will be held at ESTEC, ESA, Noordwijkk, NL - later this month - 29+30 June 2010. For details see the ESTEC meeting page at http://www.sciops.esa.int/index.php?project=CONF2010&page=GREAT_PM3 and the registration page at http://www.sciops.esa.int/index.php?project=CONF2010&page=index&conf=GREAT_PM3&register

The agenda is now being finalised and will cover:

a) status updates on the Gaia project - the mission and the data processing consortium DPAC.

b) updates concerning the activities, current and future, of the GREAT working groups

c) updates from new initiatives organised between the working groups - such as the GREAT Chemo-Dynamical Survey (GCDS).

d) information and updates on the range of Gaia GREAT workshops and conferences coming up in the next year.

The meeting will also give an opportunity for attendees and representatives of the GREAT working groups to discuss and develop, in the breakout sessions, new initiatives to bring forward in the year for further development.

The Plenary is a good opportunity to get up to date with developments around the Gaia science community. Thus if you plan on attending please register soon - the deadline being Tues 15th June 2010.

Looking forward to seeing you in ESTEC

Yours,

Nic Walton
