Subject: The Cambridge Histories of Marronage

Description: The Cambridge Histories of Marronage (CHoM) Workshop welcomes contributions that give attention to marronage - the intentional flight from colonialism, and the maroon communities they created- self-emancipated freedmen communities -across historical perspectives, including presentations that focus on the “international phenomenon” of marronage. We encourage presenters to consider their research within the broad framework offered by marronage and maroons as self-emancipated communities to allow for a productive discussion across various academic sub-fields.
